GENERAL PURPOSE
The pool located at the WSU Student Recreation Center (SRC) is looking to upgrade their existing pumping, filtration, and chlorine delivery system. McKinstry proposes to remove the existing filters for both the main pool and the spa and replace it like for like.
BASIS OF DESIGN NOTES
For the purpose of pricing, no equipment substitutions shall be allowed unless explicitly approved by
McKinstry.
The filters on the main pool and spa shall be replaced like for like.
Plumbing installation shall follow the 2018 UPC, WAC 246-260, WAC 246-262, and all other
applicable codes, and AHJ’s and DOH required installs, as they pertain to the piping system related to swimming pools.
Existing gas chlorine system needs to be removed and replaced with a liquid chlorine delivery
system or an alternative if approved by Washington State University. An eyewash station will be included in the design.
